<![endif]-->Well folks, the big day finally arrives tomorrow. The CherryPal C114 is finally shipped after weeks/months of anticipation… Oh, and there’s an election apparently too..

I began this blog back at the end of July this year and since then the little 2 watt, eco-friendly CherryPal has experienced a number of hiccups and roadblocks that it has successfully managed to overcome.

The first major roadblock was met when merely 6 days after this blog began all CherryPal orders were placed on hold until further notice, which was later attributed to a graphics processor issue. It was not until almost 2 months later that CherryPal orders were again ready to be taken but in this time away the CherryPal had gained an additional 4GB of flash memory and a new name, the C114.

The second major roadblock has been (and may continue to be) funding. In an email to CherryPal “Brand Angels” Max Seybold, CEO of CherryPal, spoke of a binding agreement with a “UK based African-born Indian family” that fell through. Once this was realized the search began for private investors but with the worldwide financial meltdown this proved difficult. In short, CherryPal are in need of financial investment if they are to survive. Hopefully investors will realize the importance of development in small, cheap, eco-friendly computers in time to prevent CherryPal from being absorbed by the impending recession (Anyone wishing to invest in green/open/fair CherryPal should get in touch via investgreen@cherrypal.com “Any amount helps!”).

The newly dubbed ‘CherryPal C114’ was to ship on US Election Day, 4th November (11/4), “guaranteed”! And now that day has arrived…

Welcome to the site. This blog is intended as an outlet for my thoughts and opinions regarding the CherryPal desktop computer. I have recently been accepted onto the CherryPal Brand Angel scheme and as such am charged with informing the world, honestly, about my experiences with the CherryPal desktop computer. I also invite others to share their experiences and thoughts here for all to discuss. It is my aim to make regular updates to this site as I testdrive the CherryPal computer and I hope to discuss these updates with many of you out there. I also hope to keep this blog up to date with the latest CherryPal news both from the company themselves and the international news.

I thought the best way to start this blog was with a brief description of what CherryPal is and who better to explain than CherryPal themselves…

“The CherryPal desktop is a tiny PC designed with the user in mind. It does all the things you do every day: surf the web, keep in touch with your friends, listen to iTunes, watch videos, word processing, presentations and spreadsheets, all without the hassle of a traditional PC. It only uses 2 watts of power, lasts 10 years and has 80 percent fewer parts. There’s no software or upgrades to install, no risk of viruses, and no operating system to deal with and free 24/7 support – all for just $249. We’ve created the most affordable, easiest-to-use and greenest desktop computer available.”
